ESA CHIME & SBG 2021 Mission Information

The ESA CHIME & SBG 2021 mission is the main mission we plan to fly in 2021 from MAY – JUN. Other customers will take the opportunity to acquire their targets during that time slot, but ESA missions will have priority.

This mission is a joint effort between ESA, NASA/JPL and UZH.

Our sensor of choice is AVIRIS-NG owned by NASA and operated by JPL.

The colour coding provides additional information. This table is updated each time a target area has been acquired successfully.

ESA CHIME & SBG mission target catalogue
The mission target catalogue is a file holding the condensed information about all ESA targets, the type of target and the preferred acquisition time windows. The target class coding of 1 or 2 is used to define the closeness in time constraint for a synchronisation between AVIRIS-NG and PRISMA.
Target Class = 1 (fast changing targets): ideally on the same day, +/- 1 day is acceptable
Target Class = 2 (slowly changing targets): maximum within a week or less
